Help keep our momentum going with a donation to our 2004-2005 Annual Fund…

I will transmit the fraternity
to those who follow after,
not only not less,
but greater than it
was transmitted to me

We have made incredible progress in the last seven months thanks to generous contributions of time by many of our alumni and a lot of hard work by our actives.

We have asked our actives for excellence and they have delivered. Following the great example lead by Bill and Susan, the actives are in the process of totally renovating the interior of the house. The first floor of the house looks better than it has for years. Other projects completed by the actives include:

House Manager Adam Dahr '06 and his assistant Marc Celler '06, plan the work ahead in the new Phi Board Room
  • They built the new Phi Board Room - the new command center for the chapter.
  • They completely renovated the Kitchen. They cleaned and refinished each piece of equipment, and replaced the ceiling and light fixtures.
  • They thoroughly cleaned the Dining Room and replaced all the lights and ceiling panels.
  • They restored and painted the Ladies Room and even added a new full-length mirror.
  • They cleaned, painted and carpeted the Coat Room.

Chapter Advisor Bill Corbett '88 and Board Member Steve Griffith '86 inspect work on the Kitchen

They have even begun to tackle some of our plumbing problems. Assistant house manager Mark Celler, has worked as a plumber's apprentice for his dad's plumbing contracting company. He brings some real expertise to the table and his dad has offered supplies at cost. Also, Steve Griffith '86, one of our new board members, has been spending weekends in State College helping with the plumbing problems.

Once the Kitchen was back in shape and we hired our new cook, Sharon, we realized we had one small problem. We found that we only owned one plate. Somehow the guys existed last year without plates - a good example of the major transition that is currently underway.

Frank and Jane Schwab '55 model the new dishes they donated along with Jim and Marshall Garrett '56

Once again, some of our Phi Heroes stepped up and answered the call. Jane and Frank Schwab ’55 together with Marshall and Jim Garrett ‘56 donated new dinnerware, glasses and flatware - enough for 40 people. Jane also had all the curtains downstairs cleaned before the guys first social. The Schwab's and the Garrets are also serving as the alumni advisors to Adam and Mark.

Here are a few of the items we need funding for…

Tools & Building Materials

The actives, led by House Manager Adam Dahr '06, are giving our house a badly needed face lift. They are skilled and willing to do the work, but they need our financial support to provide tools and building materials.

Sharon's Salary Anyone who lived in the house during Inez's reign knows a great Cook/Kitchen Manager is a major key to success of the fraternity. We are lucky to have found Sharon, and we need to keep her. Unfortunately, she is currently underpaid for her talents and level of contribution. Please help.
Kitchen Supplies Now that we have a renovated kitchen, and a new Cook, we need some kitchen supplies.
Dining Room Furniture The actives badly need new dining room tables and chairs worthy of Sharon's cooking and their famous formal dinners.
High-Speed Internet Access A cost that most of us didn't have in college, but now a must for today's band-width hungry college students. Also, a necessity for attracting new members.
Scholarships We have asked the actives to deliver and they have answered our call. We want to show our thanks and support by awarding scholarships to some of our stars.

We need your support, please give us a hand…
