restoring old cars, computers, bee keeping, skiing, scuba
diving, spelunking, and his favorite, the four grandchildren.
He was lovingly known for his sense of humor, ability and
willingness to fix anything. With an endless supply of jokes,
he happily corrected anyone's mechanical mishaps. Laughter
and fixed "whatchamacallits" followed him everywhere...

from May 1942 until September 1945 where he served in New

away Sunday morning, January 9, 2005 at UNC Hospital holding
the hands of his loved ones after many years of non-Hodgkin’s
lymphoma. Families and friends will always cherish Dick's
