His myriad hobbies and interests included restoring old cars, computers, bee keeping, skiing, scuba diving, spelunking, and his favorite, the four grandchildren. He was lovingly known for his sense of humor, ability and willingness to fix anything. With an endless supply of jokes, he happily corrected anyone's mechanical mishaps. "Doc" was a retired Advertising Executive with the Ogden Newspaper; and a World War II veteran from May 1942 until September 1945 where he served in New Guinea receiving a Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Ribbon and Combat Infantryman's Badge. Full Story

Kip's wife Peggy writes, "As I write, I am looking at a picture always prominently displayed in our home. It has always proudly moved with us. It is that wonderful old house with the imposing white pillars as impressive as its history, and in front, a line of forty of the finest young men I have ever known - now some gone and waiting, others still here and being supportive to me as we try to imagine life without Kip".
